I thought this was a very cute portrait (I don't mean that in a negative way). The girl's face is cute, the tilt of her head, the expression on her face, the slight smile. It's very appealing.

It's clear that you have a lot of skill and potential, and a nice loose line which lends itself well to this type of work. The general placement of the features and the overall appearance of the drawing is quite good, and as a whole I think it works.

But of course there are a few areas where I thought it could be tweaked! So I dusted off my Wacom tablet and made a very clumsy attempt at paintover, to illustrate what I thought could be worked on. I apologize, because I may be infusing *my* style on your drawing, so it may be that you'll need to disregard some of my advice. But these are a few areas that I thought could use a bit of modification.

Here's the Photoshop critique paintover. [link]

First, I think your colors are a bit dull, and the shadowed areas are simply darker versions of the main flesh tone. It's good to add a little color to the shadows. I choose a tint of blue. There's a whole science to flesh tones which I won't get into here (and am not equipped to fully explain anyway!) but there are some great color books out there that can help you. James Gurney's "Color and Light" is one I'm currently studying.

I thought that the cheek on our right was a little too pudgy, so I moved it in a bit. The nose and to some extent the mouth were not aligned with the rest of the face. I moved them over a little to the right.

I added more distinct highlights to the nose and mouth. A few more highlights probably could work here too. The highlight on the lower lip is a very light blue. I sometimes like adding a "cool" highlight to a warm area (like lips). I added a warm highlight to the nose and chin (a very pale yellow).

I darkened the nostrils and a bit and gave a little more structure to the nose.

The ear seemed too large, so I made it a little smaller.

I didn't mess with the eyes. They probably could use some tweaking, but other areas concerned me more.

All in all I think this is a charming piece and that you are doing very well! The most important thing (and something that is hard to teach!) is the whole expression and attitude of the portrait, which is well done.
